INTRODUCING YOUNG BOYS AND GIRLS INTO FOOTBALL
IN A SAFE AND FUN ENVIRONMENT

The Hibs Foundation Soccer School was started in 2007 to address the needs of younger players aged 4-7 and assist their physical development through an enjoyment of playing football. My name is Stuart Turvey and having run Hibs teams from junior to youth level over the last six years, I have worked with the club to take the lessons learned during this time and adapt them to the needs of younger players. The success of the school has gone from strength to strength to the point where we are now delivering on our commitment to provide football for all, regardless of age, gender, race, religion or ability. This is evidenced in the emergence this season of 5 U8 teams with 60 participating players in games being held across the county.

The emphasis of the soccer school is FUN, ENCOURAGEMENT and PARTICIPATION in order to build CONFIDENCE. We recognise that children develop at different rates with energy and enthusiasm no less important than ability in fulfilling a childs potential. The sessions are structured to take the key learning points from established coaching methods promoted by the FA and Coerver©, and deliver them in such a way as to maximise player enjoyment, keep players returning and allow them to train at a level appropriate to their own individual stage of development.

To this end, we operate three playing groups, the ages detailed below are considered typical but are not fixed barriers to facilitate an appropriate ladder of progression into friendly footballing fixtures at the age of 7/8. Once assessed, Players will be allocated groups at their appropriate training level.

Sessions now held outdoors at Newbold Comyn, Newbold Terrace East, Leamington Spa , CV32 4EW

Drive as far into the Comyn as you are able, park opposite the play area and we train immediately through the hedges on the junior pitches.
