19/02/12 – Hibs U9 Colts 4 v 1 Whitley Juniors (Home)

Match got off to a brilliant start when Colts got there first goal in the first minute.  An Oliver corner was whipped into the box and was headed into the goal by the Whitley defender.  1-0

Second goal came with 5 minutes on the clock.  After a scramble in the box which Oliver controlled and found the bottom corner of the net. 2-0

For the next 10 minutes Colts played some beautiful football and if it had not been for the post twice, goalkeeping and stubborn defending it could have been awash with goals.  On 16 minutes Colts were rewarded for their determination.  A lovely flowing move started with Ben, who had replaced Oliver, picking up the ball and after looking up saw Owen making a run which had 2 defenders following him leaving Elliott with plenty of space to smash it across the keeper to score in the far corner.

Half Time 3-0

Whitley pulled one back just after half time.

But Colts didn’t drop their heads and goal 4 came soon after.  Another corner which caused confusion in the Whitley box and Jack found himself a little space to beat the keeper.

Final score 4-1 to Hibs

Great game after a long break due to the weather.
