19/04/2008 AT7 0 - Hibs 8
AT7 rank among a select number of teams that dominate mini soccor in the Coventry league and having failed to score in our previous game, you could forgive me for being nervous about this fixture. That said, we clearly are blessed with some talented boys and from the off, this proved to be a bit of a mismatch. Whilst results like this build confidence, they do little to reveal development areas to be worked on in training but most importantly, with a number of new recruits on the field, the boys enjoyed themselves. The experience of playing U7 football paid dividends, the aggression of the hardcore players keeping the opposition pinned in their own half and the goals followed. Most pleasing was the contribution of some of the new players and the widespread positioning of the team that supported each attack to gift numerous scoring opportunities. Once the tails were up, all the boys showed an enthusiasm to take players on and get themselves on the scoresheet, something of a luxury against better opposition but regardless, a game to remember for those experiencing their first taste of competitive football. Fantastic!
