Hibs travelled to Nuneaton for their final tournament of the season. Once again the teams on show were of a high standard coming from around the midlands. Hibs started slowly with a 0-0 draw, then produced a 3-0 win in their 2nd game' This was followed by a 1-0 defeat to a Haunchwood side includind academy players in their final game they produced a 2-2 draw which was not enough to see them qualify for the knockout stages. A good team effort again with a few lapses in concentration costing them dear. Congratulations to Ben Cowdrill for getting an invitation to trial for Derby County we wish him all the best proof that you never know who is watching. Do us all proud young man.
28/06/08 Central Ajax 6aside
Hibs missed out on qualification to the semi final despite not loosing a game in the group stages. 3 wins and 3 draws conceding only 1 goal proved the high standard of competition. The lads performed with credit again as they have done all season if a little unlucky.
15/06/2008 Leamington Hibs 6aside
Hibs for the 3rd year running found 1 team that had the edge on them. This tournament it was Christ the King Juniors champions of the A Division in Coventry. Both Hibs teams got through the group stages avoiding each other in the semi.final. Hibs B started slowly in their semi against CTK Juniors finding themselves a goal down early on, eventually going on to lose the semi 2-0. Hibs A managed to beat Whitnash Town (last years winners) on penalties after a super last save from the keeper. The final was a tight affair with Hibs having more chances but CTK juniors showed their class by converting 1 of their few chances and keeping a clean shet themselves. Final score Leamington Hibs 0 CTK Juniors 1. Good effort from both Hibs teams disappointed but not that far away well done guys and thank you all.
8/06/2008 Wilnecote Wanderers 6aside
Hibs travelled to Tamworth after being invited to enter. The day was sunny and very hot, some would say to hot for running around. Most of the teams were from the Tamworth area joined by a team from Birmingham. Hibs started the tournament carelessly with a 2 nil defeat, which meant the pressure was on in the remaining games. They bounced back with a win then lost a tight game 1 nil this meant the team had to win their remaining 3 matches which they did saving their best performance till the last group game highlighted by a Jake McCarthy-Phillips treble. This wasn't to be enough as the team missed out on a semi final spot by 1 point. Despite not having our strongest squad the lads did well learning a few lessons on the way. Another positive for the day Fabio (Roberto's dad) can hold his head up at work.
1/06/2008 Weddington Thistle 6aside
24 teams took part in the under 13 tournament with representives from the Birmingham Central League, Leicester Youth League, Coventry League and the Nuneaton League. This competition was a big step up from the Taz tournament but the lads never let that unsettle them. Hibs got through the group stages with 4 wins and 1 draw beating some good sides on the way without conceding a goal. In the Quarter-Final Hibs beat Chetwyn Jets 1-0. Leaving them a Semi-Final against Blaby Boys from Leicester once again the team deservedly won 1-0 with another tight performance. The Final was between CCC's from the Birmingham Central League and Leamington Hibs. Hibs once again kept it tight at the back against very strong opposition but still managed to score the all important goal to win the Final 1-0. This was a superb squad performance with all 10 players having an imput into winning the trophy. Fraser Buchan played a superb tournament in goal showing bravery and agility when called upon and deserves a special mention but he was well backed up by the rest of the squad. 2nd tournament without conceding a goal.

Coventry Cedars 1 Leamington Hibs 4
Jake McCarthy-Phillips 2, Ben Cowdrill, Mark Jamieson
This game was the final league game of the season and both sides looked tired. Hibs dominated throughout the game at times playing their free flowing passing game which earned them 4 goals. The rest of the game the ball was in the air to much making it difficult to play football, but Hibs were always comfortable with the result never in doubt from early on.
Man of the Match: Callum Hammond worked hard in a new position with a great attitude.
17/05/2008 Tasmanian Cruisers 6aside
The lads went through the tournament without conceding a goal playing a free flowing passing game. The 7 group games produced 5 wins and 2 draws which produced a final of Hibs against Nash 2 who themselves had not conceded a goal. Hibs had to play the final with only 7 players due to Ben leaving before the final to go and see the Harlem Globetrotters (lucky young man). The lads played a solid game producing 3 goals and preserving their clean sheet record. Retaining the title they won last year. Thanks to the 2 guest players hope they enjoyed themselves enough to want more. Well done guys.

In beautiful sunshine Hibs started the game with a goal straight from the kick off (team record) but instead of building on it Hibs allowed their opponents to play and they deservedly equalised. The rest of the half was free flowing with both sides looking dangerous. The half ended the with Hibs taking the lead. The 2nd half was similar to the 1st with the difference being Hibs being more clinical in front of goal playing some lovely football along the way. Credit to their opponents who were unlucky to lose by 4 goals.
Man of the Match: Jake McCarthy-Phillips: Clinical finishing and hard work especially when the opposition had the ball

Hibs took on the double Cup Finalists and top of the league in this match. This was a 1st hand look at what it takes to be pushing for honours in this league. The game was evenly contested throughout the 70 mins with both sides being in front during the match. The result was always in the balance until a late strike and follow up won it for a delighted kings. Without playing to the high standards of Wednesday night the lads still managed to push the potential champions all the way. A positive guide for the team for where they have to be to push for honours next season.
Man of the Match: Jared Whitting Strong big hearted performance in defence against a good attacking side.
30/04/2008 U 13's A Division
Coventrians 0 Leamington Hibs 8
Aiden Pestelll 3, Jake McCarthy-Phillips 2, Harvey White 2 (1 pen), Ben Cowdrill
Hibs took to the field with the memory of their only defeat last season at the hands of their opponents. Hibs took control of the game early dominating possesion of the ball with some crisp passing. Eventually their good football got its rewards with some quality team goals. Their opponents defence found it difficult to get to grips with the pace and guile of the Hibs forwards, they were well backed up by strong tackling and sharp passes from the midfield and when called upon the defence did their bit to make sure they kept a clean sheet. A performance to be proud of with all players having a positive contribution to the result. Best performance of the season.
Man of the Match: Aiden Pestell Composure in front of goal to go with his blinding pace.

Leamington Hibs 1 AT7 Youth 2

On a sunny Sunday afternoon Hibs failure to put away their chances cost them the 3 points on offer. Hibs were 2nd best in most of the challenges but still managed to create enough clear chances to have won the game. Sloppy marking from a corner and bad defending gifted their opposition their goals. The team has to learn to be motivated for the so called lesser teams as much as they are for the so called big teams. ALL GAMES IN THIS LEAGUE THE WINS HAVE TO BE EARNED a lesson we must learn for next season.
Man of the Match: Luca Frondella: When all around him lacked sharpness he gave his all and more.
13/04/2008 U 13's A Division
Caludon Youth 0 Leamington Hibs 2
Ben Cowdrill 2
In a keenly contested 1st half with both sides creating half chances Hibs took 1 of theirs to lead at the break. The 2nd half was just as keenly contested by both sides Hibs keeper displaying excellent safe hands when his team were under pressure, Hibs continued to defend well and be dangerous on the attack eventually scoring the 2nd goal again well taken. The game was played the way football should be played with the referee doing a super job allowing both sides to express themselves. Both sides being a credit to their respective clubs.
Man of the Match: Fraser Buchan superb handling throughout showing his true capabilities against a strong opposition.

Leamington Hibs 4 Stratford Town Colts 0
Ben Cowdrill, Aiden Pestell, Matthew Kingman, og
Hibs finally broke their midweek bogey with a comfortable win. Having not won a midweek game in 3 seasons. Stratford battled hard but were no match for Hibs enabling them to bounce back from Sundays disappointment.
Man of the Match: Jared Whiting a constant threat down the right while also being good defensively
6/04/2008 League Cup Quarter Final
Coventry Sphinx Juniors 3 Leamington Hibs 0 (AET)
Hibs were taking on their opponents for the 4th times this season having been beaten on the previous 3 occasions. The 11 men of Hibs performed superbly to a man throughout normal time limiting their higher ranked opponents to very little but also creating the odd chance themselves. Extra time was always going to be difficult due to no substitutes being available but Hibs continued to match their opponents in every department. The game was going towards penalties until a wonder strike from their midfield player late in the 2nd period of extra time, 2 late goals followed due to Hibs gambling for an equaliser. The 11 lads gave their opponents their toughest game of the season and were unlucky to lose a comment echoed by many a spectator. Proud of you all as always.
Man of the Match: Jordan Cullinane-Liburd Outstanding performance throughout 90 Min's of football well backed up by 10 other team-mates
2/04/2008 U13's A Division
Leamington Hibs 1 Alpha Tachbrook 2
Ben Cowdrill
Hibs found their opponents style of play difficult to deal with throughout the game. Their opponents wanted it more than Hibs out working them with a physical in your face approach. The first goal was always going to be important and it was gifted to the opponents followed closely by a silly penalty meant it was going to be difficult for Hibs to recover. A late goal and a few scares but Hibs got what they deserved out of the game nothing.
Man of the Match: Jordan Cullinane-Liburd committed to the team cause throughout the game what a pity more of his team mates couldn't respond to his lead.
30/03/2008 U13's A Division
AT7 Youth 2 Leamington Hibs 4
Aiden Pestell, Matthew Kingman, Callum Hammond, Harvey White
In a keenly contested first half with the wind in their favour Hibs found it difficult to produce many clear cut chances while keeping AT7 on the back foot. An outstanding over head kick into the bottom corner by Aiden being their only reward. The 2nd half was more like Hibs when they decided to play their team passing game getting rewarded with 3 goals involving several team members in between AT7 scored 2 goals but the result was never in doubt.
Man of the Match: Aiden Pestell not only a super finish for goal added to that with work rate and commitment.
9/03/2008 U13's A Division
Leamington Hibs 2 Coventry Cedars 0
Ben Cowdrill, Callum Hammond
In a game that lacked quality but with plenty of effort from both sides, Hibs managed to score 2 goals to secure a hard fought victory.
Man of the Match: Jared Whiting made some good runs and kept on battling.
2/03/2008 League Cup 3rd Round
Leamington Hibs 2 Coventry Sphinx Blue 0
Ben Cowdrill, Harvey White
This game was always going to be a tighter affair than the previous week and so it proved. In a keenly contested 1st half Hibs faced into the strong wind and had to be aware of long shots and free kicks. The 1st goal was always going to be crucial this came midway through the 2nd half with a crisp passing move involving several players clinically finished by Ben. The goal eased the tension but Sphinx continued to press forcing Aiden to make 2 1st class saves. Hibs job was made even harder when Jake injured his ankle he continued to play on due to lack of numbers but was handicapped by his injury. Hibs continued to try and play and deservedly got a 2nd through Harvey making the last few minutes comfortable for Hibs. A gutsy performance from the 11 available players well done guys.
Man of the Match: Ben Cowdrill Strong all round performance against some tough tackling capped of by quality finish for goal.
24/02/2008 U13's A Division
Coventry Sphinx Blue 1 Leamington Hibs 7
Jake McCarthy-Phillips 3, Ben Cowdrill 3, Callum Hammond
Hibs found the condition of the pitch difficult this resulted in Sphinx taking a lead. This seemed to wake up Hibs and they produced 15 minutes of team football which resulted in 5 quality goals with several players having an involvement. The 2nd half was a more even affair with Sphinx having reorganised but as the half wore on Hibs got back on top scoring another 2 goals in quick succession. The 15 minutes in the 1st half was a pleasure to watch the team have to begin to realise what it needs to take that next step. Well done guys feet on the ground though next week is a new game.
Man of the Match: Jake McCarthy-Phillips Led the line well always looking to involve other players plus a smart hat-trick.
17/02/2008 Bedworth Nursing Cup Semi-Final
Coventry Sphinx Juniors 4 Leamington Hibs 1
Mark Jamieson
In a keenly contested 1st half with Hibs the dominant force but failing to make their superior possession count, Hibs turned round at half time 2-1 down due to better finishing by their opponents. The 1st goal of the 2nd half was going to be crucial and Sphinx got it from then on it became very difficult for Hibs to raise their game and another goal from their opponents gave them a deserved victory for their 2nd half dominance.
Man of the Match: Roberto Ciurlia Playing against a very difficult opponent but stuck to his task throughout
27/01/2008 League Cup 2nd Round
Caludon Youth 0 Leamington Hibs 2
Jake McCarthy-Phillips, Mark Jamieson
Having drawn Caludon (previously AT7 Red) for the 3rd time in 3 years and not yet been on the winning side, the lads knew they had to perform to change the trend. From the 1st whistle Hibs went at their opponents resulting in an early chance that was neatly tucked away by Jake. Both teams found the long grass difficult to play flowing football with Hibs restricting Caludon to long range efforts comfortable dealt with by the keeper. The 2nd half was about Caludon looking for the equaliser and Hibs again restricting them to long range efforts that didn't trouble the keeper. Hibs were always dangerous on the break and from one of these Hibs doubled their lead Mark seizing on a mistake by their keeper to steer the ball into an empty net. Hibs thoroughly deserved their victory against a side currently top of the A Division. Team Performance built on effort and determination.
Man of the Match: Mark Jamieson Tireless work rate throughout rewarded with 2nd goal.
20/01/2008 Bedworth Nursing Cup Quarter Final
Leamington Hibs 3 Nuneaton Griff Juniors 1
Jake McCarthy-Phillips, Ben Cowdrill, Callum Hammond
Hibs started the game very slowly and found it difficult to play their normal passing game. Nuneaton griff seized on the frail start by Hibs scoring midway through the 1st half, this seemed to galvanise Hibs and with their 1st bit of quality team work they got the equaliser clinically finished by Jake just before half time. The 2nd half was dominated by Hibs team passing game culminating in 2 more well worked goals by Ben and Callum giving Hibs a deserved victory and a place in the last 4 of the Nursing cup.
Man of the Match: Jake McCarthy-Phillips involved in all of Hibs best moments in the game led the frontline superbly.
6/01/2008 U13's A Division
Leamington Hibs 0 Coventry Sphinx Juniors 2
Hibs & Sphinx provided a highly competetive game with 2 evenly matched sides. Both sides defences were on top in the 1st half giving the strikers very little opportunity in front of goal. The one clear opportunity of the 1st half fell to hibs with a penalty but this time the sure footed Harvey White was outwitted by the Sphinx keeper who pushed his shot round the post. The 2nd half was just as tight until the last 15 mins when the Sphinx forward captalized on 2 lapses in the Hibs defence to show why they are pushing for honours again this year. The game was played in good spirit throughout with Hibs unlucky to get nothing from the game. Fraser made his debut in goal and was solid throughout with good handling and distrubition welcome to the team.
Man of the Match: Jordan Cullinane-Liburd in the right place at the right time strong performance.
16/12/07 U13's A Division
Ernesford Dynamos 2 Leamington Hibs 2
Callum Hammond, Harvey White (pen)
Hibs began the game slowly but eventually got into their stride against a competetive dynamo side. After scoring with a good team move hibs dominated the 1st half but between close decisions and unlucky efforts on goal the half finished 0-1. Ernesford came out in determined mood for the 2nd half hibs seemed incapable of raising their game back to 1st half levels this caused hibs to be 2-1 down with little time left. Hibs continued to knock at the door and a close decision went hibs way and hibs drew deservedly level. Both teams provided plenty of excitement and endevour in tricky conditions credit to both teams.
Man of the Match: Ben Cowdrill covered every blade of grass and always a threat going forward.
2/12/07 U13's A Division
Leamington Hibs 0 Dunlop Juniors 3
Hibs found playing against last seasons league runners up in heavy conditions to be another learning experience. In a tightly contested first half with 2 committed sides Dunlop edged ahead 1-0 at half time. Dunlop were a well organised strong side, Hibs were committed throughout the game but found it difficult to produce their free flowing game on a heavy pitch. 2 late goals for Dunlop were a little harsh on the scoreline but all in all we are competing with the best in our 1st season well done all the players.
Man of the Match: Jack Parry a performance of a captain led his side by example throughout the game.
18/11/07 U13's Nursing Cup 2nd Round
Christ the King Rovers 0 Leamington Hibs 3
Jordan Cullinane-Liburd 2, Callum Hammond
The game was played in very wet conditions, both sides competed well dispite the weather. Throughout the game Hibs showed why they are in a higher league being a constant threat to the Rovers goal. Credit to both teams for producing such a good game of football in terrible conditions.
Man of the Match: Callum Hammond starting to believe in and show the talent that he has
11/11/07 U13's A Division
Leamington Hibs 4 Coventry Sphinx Blue 2
Jake McCarthy-Phillips 2, Ben Cowdrill 2
Hibs started the game by almost scoring with their first attack only thwarted by a fine save by the Sphinx keeper. Hibs continued to play their football which resulted in 3 quality team goal in the first half. Sphinx came out in the 2nd half with a commitment to get back in the game they got the goal their efforts deserved which hibs replied to in their next attack. Sphinx continued to push and were once again rewarded for their efforts with another goal. Having bossed the 1st half Hibs had to show some resiliance in the 2nd half when Sphinx showed how well they can play. Well done guys another 3 points. Something for us all to remember the game is only won when the ref blows his final whistle.
Man of the Match: Ben Cowdrill a constant threat from midfield
4/11/07 U13's A Division
Leamington Hibs 4 Coventrians 3
Ben Cowdrill 2, Mark Jamieson, Harvey White (pen)
Having not played for 3 weeks Hibs started the game slowly against last seasons B Division winners. Without hitting top form Hibs cruised into a 4-1 lead midway through 2nd half. Coventrians to their credit kept playing away and pulled back 2 goals late on giving Hibs a slight scare. Deserved the win but have to defend better as a team.
Man of the Match: Harvey White consistant danger and what a cool penalty
14/10/07 U13's A Division
Alpha Tachbrook 1 Leamington Hibs 1
Jake McCarthy-Phillips
Hibs once again found it difficult to play against a competetive Alpha team on a tight pitch. A game of few clear cut chances but Hibs managed to maintain their unbeaten record spanning 3 seasons against their local rivals.
Man of the Match: Jake McCarthy-Phillips up for it from start to finish.
7/10/07 U13's A Division
Stratford Town Colts 0 Leamington Hibs 8
Jake McCarthy-Phillips 2, Callum Hammond 2, Ben Cowdrill 3, Matty Kingman.
Hibs bounced back from consecutive defeats with a solid team performance, highlighting in Ben Cowdrill getting his 1st treble in Hibs colours. Stronger tests ahead in the coming months. Feet on the ground though lads.

30/9/07 U13's A Division
Leamington Hibs 1 Christ the King Juniors 2

Hibs started slowly in this match and were fortunate to be only 1-0 down at half time. A rejuvanated Hibs in the 2nd half took the game to last seasons cup and league winners, after equalising hibs could not make their dominance count and where caught out late on. This was another game where Hibs showed they can be competitive in the A Division. Unlucky guys lots of positives for the rest of the season.
Man of the Match: Ed Squires total commitment throughout the game.

Coventry Sphinx Juniors 6 Leamington Hibs 4

Hibs learnt a harsh lesson about football in the A Division in this match. Having been in control of the game they allowed their opponents to battle their way to victory. Hibs played some lovely football culminating in 3 class goals but where unable to cope with the physical aspect of their opponents game. We as players and manager need to more focused on what we do and not allow opponents to ruffle us. I feel as a manager i should be apologising to both players and parents for allowing myself to be drawn into arguments but in my defence anything i do is in defence of my players and team. Despite this set back i still believe we can compete in this league and do well. Heads up lads and keep learning as we go proud of you all.
Man of the Match: Matthew Kingman massive heart packed into a small body.
21/9/07 U13's A Division
Leamington Hibs 3 Ernesford Dynamos 1
Harvey White (pen), Ben Cowdrill, Mark Jamieson
Hibs gained 3 more points by beating previously unbeaten Ernesford Dynamos. After going a goal down early in the 1st half Hibs showed determination and patience to get a well deserved victory against a team established in the division, not one of the teams better performances but beginning to show the character needed to compete in this division.
Man of the Match Ben Cowdrill a constant menace to the Dynamos defence.

Hibs came up against a Dunlop side that finished last season as runners up. Hibs were unable to establish their passing game on a strong well organised Dunlop team. Despite the defeat the team can look forward to the rest of the season knowing they can compete learning as they play. Heads up guys we are all proud of you.

HIBS U12s SECURE PROMOTION TO THE TOP FLIGHT 12/04/2007
With the end of the season in sight, Hibs U12s became the first Hibs team to secure a promotion place with a 5-2 win over Finham Park Rangers and can now look forward to Coventry A league football next season . The squad, under the outstanding stewardship of manager Lincoln Liburd, followed up last seasons 100% promotion campaign with another unbeaten run in the league, something Lincoln will no doubt wish to maintain over their remaining six fixtures. The lads success also carries with it the accolade of being the first Hibs junior soccer team to find themselves competing in the top flight since Hibs moved their squads into the Coventry leagues 6 years ago, despite only being their second season together.
Sadly Nick is going home
The team is sadly losing Nicholas Hitti he and his family are going back home to America. They will be surely missed. The team needs to replace Nicholas in goal any budding goalkeepers interested in playing A league football get in touch with coach on the above number. Team trains at Newbold Comyn 6-8 friday evenings till the end of June.
